Water Activated Bars - What are they?

The hint is in the name. These solid bars require water to ‘activate’ a moisturiser.

The whole idea of having water-activated products is to eliminate plastic. These solid bars come in compostable packaging and don’t need plastic bottles to work effectively. So when you're finished using the bars, the cardboard and paper packaging can easily be composted or recycled in kerbside recycling.

How to use Water Activated Bars

There are two ways to use your water activated bars; either as a solid or a creamy liquid moisturiser.

To use in bar form, simply, run the bar under tepid water and rub it in your hands to create the cream. Softly pat your hands on the area you want to moisturise, then gently massage to evenly distribute. Make sure to keep the bar dry and well drained between use.

Alternatively you can also turn the bar into a creamy liquid moisturiser. Activate your bar in 3 simple steps:

  1. Slice or grate the bar into a mixing bowl
  2. Add 200mL of cooled boiled water, mix with a stick blender until cream is formed
  3. Decant into a clean recycled jar (always label your jar)
