About Where Pigs Fly

Where Pigs Fly Farm Sanctaury, was founded in 2014. The intent? To combat animal agriculture abuse and bring about a new awareness and understanding of farm animals.

There philosophy is simple — treat all animals with compassion and respect. As the wise words Bruce from Finding Nemo once spoke, "fish are friends not food", which in this case, extends to 'animals are our friends, not food.'

The vision of Where Pigs Fly, is to see a world where humans embrace and practice compassion and respect for all species. We are absolutely delighted to help bring this vision into a reality. So far Jamie and Debbie have rescued and cared for hundreds of farm animals and educated thousands of people about animal agriculture. Let's meet the animals.

The Animals

As it currently stands, Where Pigs Fly have over 200 rescue farmed animals at the sanctuary. These animals were all saved from cases of severe abuse, neglect or abandonment.

If your visiting the farm sanctuary, you'll be sure to find animals like sheep, horses, cows, goats, donkeys, ducks, turkeys, alpacas, chickens, roosters, guineafowls, Darcy the rescue dog and of course, pigs.

Our team has had the pleasure of visiting the beautiful sanctuary and getting up close with all the animals. It's a wonderful day out, where you can learn more and play with the animals. Very family-friendly.

Interview With Founders | Jamie & Debbie

How did the sanctuary come about? In 2014, we left our Sydney life behind and bought 100 acre property in the Hunter Valley and set up Where Pigs Fly Farm Sanctuary. We had no farm experience at all, but we decided to do something.

What are the latest projects you're working on?  We are working on our educational programme aimed at schools and youth groups. We also need to launch a fundraiser to purchase a new towing vehicle for our rescue work.

Being non-profit how you manage expenses? How Does F&F funds help? Regular tax-deductible donations ensure our animals receive the care and treatment they need. We can't do it without the support of our community. F&F have supported us from the very start. We are appreicative of their financial support but also their shared belief in a kinder world for all.
