How to Choose Your Size
Whilst there are no hard and fast rules for selecting a model size, model selection is generally based on childbearing history, and cervival position, but many other factors such as anatomy, age and pelvic floor tone may influence your cup size selection.
- Model 1: Recommend if you are under 30 and have not given birth (Grippy Finish).
- Model 2: Recommend if you are over 30 or have given birth (Grippy Finish).
- Model 3: Recommend if you have a high cervix or long vaginal canal (Grippy Finish).
- Model 4: Recommend if you have a low cervix or short vaginal canal (Grippy Finish).
Please note that the sizing recommendations should be used as a guide only.
If you have had a caesarean birth a Model 1 or Model 2 JuJu may be suitable.
When selecting a Model number, please also consider the other factors below in conjunction with childbrearing history.
Pelvic floor tone and exercise
If you have particularly strong pelvic floor tone due to practicing regular kegel exercises or other activities such as pilates, yoga or dance you may wish to consider a Model 1, regardless of childbearing history or age.
If you have had vaginal corrective surgery you may wish to consider a Model 1.
Virgins and young women
A Model 1 JuJu is recommended for virgins and sexually active young women.
If you have a petite or small build, you may wish to consider a Model 1 JuJu.
If you have a larger build, you may wish to consider a Model 2 JuJu.
If you have a low cervix or short vaginal canal choose a Model 4.
If you have high cervix or long vaginal canal choose a Model 3.
If you have any gynaecological concerns, such as a particularly long or narrow vaginal canal, we recommend you seek the advice of your medical practitioner prior to using JuJu to see if it is suitable for you.
Your cervical position may also influence your selection of the model number and/or your ability to successfully use a menstrual cup. Your cervix may move at different stages of your cycle, so it’s a good idea to check your cervical position at the beginning, in the middle, and at the end of your menstrual cycle to get a good understanding of your overall cervical position.
To determine your cervical height; wash your hands, then insert your index finger into your vagina to locate your cervix. Your cervix is a bump, which feels a bit like the end of your nose, but is shaped like a donut. Thoroughly wash your hands.
If you consistently feel your cervix sitting just inside the vaginal opening or when you have only inserted the tip of your finger up to your ‘first knuckle’ (or the bend in your finger just below your fingernail), you most likely have a low cervix and a Model 4 JuJu Cup may be the most suitable for you. The Model 4 JuJu Cup is better suited to shorter vaginal canals as it has a shorter body and stem when compared with other JuJu Models. Please only choose this model if you are sure you have a low cervix throughout your cycle as the removal of this cup may be more difficult if you have a normal to high cervix. In most cases, the Model 4 JuJu Cup is not recommended for young girls or virgins.
If you are unable to reach your cervix or need to insert your finger past the middle bend in your finger before you can feel your cervix, you most likely have a high cervix and may like to consider the Model 3 JuJu Cup. The Model 3 JuJu Cup has a longer body, which makes removal easier for women with a high cervix and longer vaginal canal.
JuJu is an Australian business whose core mission is to encourage individuals to embrace their monthly menstruation as a sign of fertility and health and provide them with a healthier, greener and more cost effective alternative to disposable pads and tampons. JuJu was approved for sale by the Therapeutic Goods Administration of Australia (TGA) in February 2011.
JuJu is folded and inserted into the vagina where it opens to create a seal and securely collect menstrual fluid. When full, it is removed, emptied, rinsed and re-inserted. It is cleaned and stored then reused during your next period. A detailed User Guide is enclosed in the box.

Different but goodBy: Maryam on 26 March 2019Really easy to use, love that it reduces waste, just wish it was biodegradable.
BEST PRODUCTBy: Anonymous on 2 March 2019The best menstrual cup I've ever used. I've used a few brands now and this on is by far been the best for me. Highly recommend the Juju Cup
AwesomeBy: DJ on 23 January 2019This was my first menstrual cup and I've been using it for about a year. I use it along with hannahpads. I was hesitant because I hate tampons, but unlike tampons, you can't feel this at all. I work at a school and it's very hard to find time to change pads or tampons. I change this once in the morning and once in the evening, and I don't have to worry about finding time to get to the bathroom. Very low maintenance. I've travelled (long haul) with it as well, and it makes traveling on your period so more comfortable and convenient because you can leave it in for so long. I used to have problems with leaks, but I discovered it wasn't unfolding properly. That just took practise and trying out different folds. The punchdown fold is easier to insert, but the c-fold is easier to unfold. Sometimes I still have leak issues, I think when it overflows. I do not get heavy periods so maybe my cervix is low. Anyway, I'll never go back to pads or tampons. This is actually life changing. For younger users, I would recommend you become comfortable with tampons before trying a cup. If you can't insert a tampon, you won't be able to insert a cup.
Soooooo good!!By: Bec on 11 January 2019I will never ever go back to pads or tampons - I love this cup so much! You can put it in for 8 hours and just completely forget you're wearing it. It feels like nothing at all, which is more than I can say for tampons. I did trim the stem off mine as it stuck out a little bit, and I was worried about what that would mean when I went through the body scanner at the airport. The body scanner didn't pick it up at all and I went through with no problems, in case anyone's worried about this.
Took a bit of getting used to, love it now!By: Anonymous on 7 January 2019I’ve had three menstrual cycles with the juju now, the first two were a bit of a struggle but I soon realised I hadn’t been putting the cup in high enough. I still place it wrong sometimes but it’s all a learning curve! It’s nice to know I’m helping the environment and my pocket at the same time
