Urban Greens Mini Sprout Garden with Sunflower, in a White Windowsill Box

This Urban Greens Grow Kit contains everything you need to grow your own mini sprout garden. Sunflower sprouts have a nutty flavour with a crunchy bite. They are also delicious with salad, sandwiches and smoothies. High in protein, Vitamin B and zinc. 

The kit includes:

  • A beautiful porcelain windowsill box with bamboo lid and drip tray. Size: 20 x 8 x 8cm
  • 1 packet Sunflower Seeds
  • 1 packet Organic Soil

Urban Greens create sustainable, ethical gifts which are fun, enjoyable and that little bit educational too. These Green Growing kits are perfect for all ages; they're ideal for urbanites, kids, big kids and those who just want to grow some beautiful herbs, spices and veggies.  

When you are ready to sow your seeds, empty the coir mix into a large bowl. Add 325ml of warm water and leave to rehydrate for several hours or overnight. When all the water is absorbed, mix the coir so it is moist throughout. Transfer to the windowsill box.

Soak each seeds in a dish of water for about 4 hours (if using multiple seed varieties, soak separately)

Strain the seeds and sprinkle each variety evenly over the soil in one third of the windowsill box.

Gently press the seeds down into the coir mix so they are partly covered.

Place the bamboo lid back on top to cover the seeds. Place the box where it will not be disturbed and out of direct sunlight. Keep moist but not wet by misting daily.

When leaves start to appear remove the lid (place lid on the bottom as a drip tray) and move the box to an area of indirect sunlight. Harvest 1-2 days after leaves appear or at desired size.
