    The Little Veggie Patch Co, Kale 'Dwarf Blue' Heirloom Seeds

    Growing your own produce is made easy with The Little Veggie Patch Co's heirloom seeds. The Kale 'Dwarf Blue' Seeds are a Russian variety that produces frilled leaves. Each plant can produce for over a year, in between attacks from the white cabbage moth and caterpillars. There are approximately 50-60 seeds and they grow harmoniously with Herbs and Onions. Vegan and cruelty free.

    When to plant:

    • Zone 1: September - April
    • Zone 2: August - May
    • Zone 3: March - July
    • Zone 4: May - July

    Soil: Ensure your soil is nutrient rich, so prepare it with fresh manure and compost a fortnight before planting. Integrate good levels of organic matter to increase its water holding ability.

    Soil pH level: 6.5-7.0

    Position: Full sun, but will benefit from shading in warm weather.

    How to plant: Soak seeds in water overnight prior to planting, then sow directly into your patch at a depth of about 1cm. Thin out once they have germinated, which should take 7-10 days.

    Spacing: 30cm-40cm

    Depth: 0.5cm-1cm

    Companion plants: Herbs, Onions
