My Ten Pregnancy Picks

Jan 30, 2019by Julie - F&F

I’m Julie, the Founder of F&F; at the grand old age of 42 I’m pregnant with my first bub. I’m currently nearly 35 weeks so we’re all action stations. During pregnancy I’ve used a few products at F&F I haven’t used before along with some old favourites.

Here are my Top Ten Pregnancy Picks that have really helped me get through the last 8 months.

Bamboo Toothbrush and Minty Toothpaste

I've had sickness throughout my pregnancy so I’m still not well at the 35 week mark. As such I’ve felt pretty grotty and I’ve needed my mouth to feel more human than what it does. Cleaning my teeth regularly has been a huge help. I love both Grants Fresh Mint Toothpaste and ecostore’s Whitening Toothpaste. All paired with my Green + Kind bamboo toothbrush.

Love Tea Morning Wellness Tea

On the subject of nausea I have been loving the Morning Wellness Tea by Love Tea, It’s a Certified Organic Loose Leaf Tea  and contains peppermint, cinnamon and ginger. They have traditionally been used to support the digestive function, reduce nausea, and balance blood sugar levels.

The Physic Garden Belly Balm

This belly balm has been beautiful and nourishing and perfect for my growing bump. It is quite comforting to use this balm plus helps with the dreaded stretch marks. The belly balm comes in a 50g size and a 25g size

Sunscreen

When you’re pregnant your skin is a bit more sensitive to the sun than normal. It’s important we use sunscreen regardless but really important when pregnant. I’m a huge fan of Simple As That Sunscreen,. It’s vegan, cruelty-free, ocean-friendly with no nasty ingredients, formulated by a pharmacist and smells delicious. There is also a kids one now too.

Water Bottle

I have been more dehydrated being pregnant and had a fair few headaches so my water bottle has not left my side. I like a decent size bottle so my honua one is great plus it’s insulated so keeps my water cold for 24 hours. You can find all our water bottles here.

Magnesium Stick

For some reason, my moles have got larger and I have developed a couple of skin tags that I hadn’t seen before. Apparently this is common when pregnant so I’ve been using the Amazing Oils Magnesium Stick which can assist in the reduction of these.

Modibodi and Hannahpad

When you’re pregnant your pelvic floor takes a hit. Exercises are really important and you can find plenty online plus our Antenatal class covers them but I have found I also need a bit of back up so love Modibodi and Hannahpad. Modibodi vegan period underwear comes in two options – light/ medium and heavy/ overnight. They’re great for periods but also leaks! The original Modibodi aren’t vegan but these are. Also, hannahpad reusable cloth pads are amazing, comfortable, certified organic and come in a variety of types from panty liner to super ultra overnight. The latter is great for postpartum.

Sienna Nail Polish – Goddess

Goddess is my new favourite shade and a great way to feel a little more human-like when you don’t feel particularly human at all. I have loved this colour for my toes. All Sienna’s nail polishes are vegan, cruelty-free and free of harsh ingredients.

You can find our pregnancy range at F&F. If you have any other great products you want to share let us know.
