The BPA-Free Plastic Bottom Tank holds 8L of filtered water and is the smart, practical choice for households who want thorough, long-term water quality. Gravity-fed and compact, it sits neatly on any benchtop and requires no installation. Initial setup:

  1. Soak Mineral Stones and Alkalinity Enhancer: Submerge 48 hours, changing water 4 times. Use boiled-and-cooled or chlorinated water for rain/tank water.
  2. Prepare Ceramic Pre-Filter: Soak 5 minutes, gently scrub with coconut fibre pad, then rinse.
  3. Prepare Multi-Stage Filter: Soak, slowly pour ~2L clean water through, then tap to release air bubbles. Some fine carbon may flush out initially.
  4. Rinse Anti-Bacterial Stones and tanks: Use warm water only, no detergents.
  5. Assemble unit: Fit tap with washers, place stones in bottom tank, seat filters, add top tank and lid, fill top tank (4L). Wait ~90 minutes for filtration.

Daily use:

  1. Add water: Pour into top tank.
  2. Pre-filtration: Ceramic dome removes rust, sediment, and bacteria.
  3. Multi-stage filtration: Activated carbon, zeolite, and other layers remove chlorine, fluoride, heavy metals, and contaminants.
  4. Remineralisation: Water rests among mineral stones, rebalancing calcium, magnesium, and potassium.
  5. Magnetic structuring: Water passes through magnetic tap for enhanced hydration.
  6. Refill: Top up when bottom tank is half full. Avoid overfilling.

The Zazen Alkaline Water System removes >99.98% of PFAS ('forever chemicals'), independently verified through lab testing at SAS Laboratories on Australian tap water. Many standard jug filters and basic tap attachments cannot reliably remove PFAS, the Zazen system uses activated carbon filtration that meets Global NSF 53 standards, which is the benchmark for PFAS removal.

Neither. The Zazen system is gravity-fed and requires no plumbing connections and no power source. It sits on your benchtop and you fill the top tank with tap water, filtration happens naturally as water passes through the 10 stages. Setup takes around 15 minutes and is straightforward. The BPA-free plastic tank is lightweight and easy to handle, making it a practical choice for any household, including renters.

It filters and remineralises. Most water filters simply remove contaminants, Zazen goes further. After removing PFAS, chlorine, heavy metals, fluoride and other impurities, the system adds back calcium, magnesium and potassium through its mineral stones. The result is clean, alkaline, mineral-rich water, closer to what naturally filtered spring water would be. The Alkalinity Enhancer included with every system supports this remineralisation process (RRP $44.95, yours free).

Filter replacement is recommended every 6 months to maintain full filtration effectiveness.
