Pela Compostable Grip

Pela's Grip is a heavy-duty, comfortable phone grip with an adjustable loop to stabilise your device with ease. The grip is 100% compostable and can be composted at home, in industrial composters or sent back to us and we'll get back to Pela to make more products. Each grip is made from flax shive and a plant-based biopolymer. They are certified compostable to US and EU standards. In home compost Pela will fully compost in 6 months to 3 years, depending on the conditions. Pela is also a member of 1% for The Planet donating money to worthwhile environmental causes.

Why have Pela developed these phone grips

Pela want to create a waste-free future. Generally speaking, a phone grip is replaced every time we get a new phone. These phone grips and cases they're attached (made from conventional plastics) will last for over 1000 years. The fate of these phone grips and plastic cases they're attached to photodegrade in the wastestream, eventually becoming Micro-Plastics. Micro-Plastics end up in the oceans, lakes and rivers, and are eaten by fish, marine mammals and other organisms, and in most cases, harm is done to the sea-life ingesting these plastics. Pela is looking at other products as part of its journey to a waste free world.
