Frequently asked questions about Bokashi One - Bucket Composting System
What can I compost in the Bokashi One?
You can add almost all kitchen scraps, including fruit and vegetable peels, cooked or raw meat, dairy, eggs, bread, coffee grounds, tea bags, and even wilted flowers or tissues. Avoid large bones and excessive liquid.
How do I use the Bokashi Juice?
The liquid that drains from the bucket is packed with nutrients and beneficial microbes. Dilute it to use as a fertiliser for plants or pour small amounts down drains to naturally clean pipes.
Will the bucket smell in my kitchen?
No. The airtight design keeps odours contained. When the lid is sealed properly, any scent is mild and not noticeable, making it ideal for indoor use.
How often do I need to empty or clean the bucket?
Drain the liquid regularly to maintain efficiency. When the bucket is full, bury the fermented waste in soil or add it to your compost system. Wash the bucket thoroughly between cycles for best results.
