How to Choose Your Size
Whilst there are no hard and fast rules for selecting a model size, model selection is generally based on childbearing history, and cervival position, but many other factors such as anatomy, age and pelvic floor tone may influence your cup size selection.
- Model 1: Recommend if you are under 30 and have not given birth (Grippy Finish).
- Model 2: Recommend if you are over 30 or have given birth (Grippy Finish).
- Model 3: Recommend if you have a high cervix or long vaginal canal (Grippy Finish).
- Model 4: Recommend if you have a low cervix or short vaginal canal (Grippy Finish).
Please note that the sizing recommendations should be used as a guide only.
If you have had a caesarean birth a Model 1 or Model 2 JuJu may be suitable.
When selecting a Model number, please also consider the other factors below in conjunction with childbrearing history.
Pelvic floor tone and exercise
If you have particularly strong pelvic floor tone due to practicing regular kegel exercises or other activities such as pilates, yoga or dance you may wish to consider a Model 1, regardless of childbearing history or age.
If you have had vaginal corrective surgery you may wish to consider a Model 1.
Virgins and young women
A Model 1 JuJu is recommended for virgins and sexually active young women.
If you have a petite or small build, you may wish to consider a Model 1 JuJu.
If you have a larger build, you may wish to consider a Model 2 JuJu.
If you have a low cervix or short vaginal canal choose a Model 4.
If you have high cervix or long vaginal canal choose a Model 3.
If you have any gynaecological concerns, such as a particularly long or narrow vaginal canal, we recommend you seek the advice of your medical practitioner prior to using JuJu to see if it is suitable for you.
Your cervical position may also influence your selection of the model number and/or your ability to successfully use a menstrual cup. Your cervix may move at different stages of your cycle, so it’s a good idea to check your cervical position at the beginning, in the middle, and at the end of your menstrual cycle to get a good understanding of your overall cervical position.
To determine your cervical height; wash your hands, then insert your index finger into your vagina to locate your cervix. Your cervix is a bump, which feels a bit like the end of your nose, but is shaped like a donut. Thoroughly wash your hands.
If you consistently feel your cervix sitting just inside the vaginal opening or when you have only inserted the tip of your finger up to your ‘first knuckle’ (or the bend in your finger just below your fingernail), you most likely have a low cervix and a Model 4 JuJu Cup may be the most suitable for you. The Model 4 JuJu Cup is better suited to shorter vaginal canals as it has a shorter body and stem when compared with other JuJu Models. Please only choose this model if you are sure you have a low cervix throughout your cycle as the removal of this cup may be more difficult if you have a normal to high cervix. In most cases, the Model 4 JuJu Cup is not recommended for young girls or virgins.
If you are unable to reach your cervix or need to insert your finger past the middle bend in your finger before you can feel your cervix, you most likely have a high cervix and may like to consider the Model 3 JuJu Cup. The Model 3 JuJu Cup has a longer body, which makes removal easier for women with a high cervix and longer vaginal canal.
JuJu is an Australian business whose core mission is to encourage individuals to embrace their monthly menstruation as a sign of fertility and health and provide them with a healthier, greener and more cost effective alternative to disposable pads and tampons. JuJu was approved for sale by the Therapeutic Goods Administration of Australia (TGA) in February 2011.
JuJu is folded and inserted into the vagina where it opens to create a seal and securely collect menstrual fluid. When full, it is removed, emptied, rinsed and re-inserted. It is cleaned and stored then reused during your next period. A detailed User Guide is enclosed in the box.

Best switch I have ever madeBy: Hannah on 28 May 2019I have used Model 2 JuJu for around 6 months and I find it so easy and convenient to use! However, being under 30 and never having given birth made me decide to get the Model 2 but I have realised that a couple of days I really ought to have a larger cup because it just gets super full and so for these really heavy days, I have started using the Model 1 and I’m so pleased with it. A lot fewer emergency cup changing runs. Usually my cup stays in all day (8-12 hours) but sometimes I know I need to change it more often. They’re great if you want to go swimming or have to go long times without changing a tampon! I bought mine purely for environmental reasons and I’m so pleased with them.
Love it!By: Anonymous on 17 April 2019I absolutely love my Juju menstrual cup! I got the Juju menstrual cup in size 2 and I adore it! The new design is incredible and makes having a period a breeze. I love only having to empty my cup twice a day, rather than go through countless packs of disposable pads and tampons when I have my period! I love reusables so switching to a menstrual cup was effortless. I've saved so much money from not buying disposables and I love that I can use my cup for several years, saving me thousands of dollars. Once you find your goldilocks menstrual cup & master inserting and removing it, it actually makes your period fun! You don't have to worry about leaking, or running out of pads or tampons because your cup is always there. It also cuts the risk of toxic shock to practically 0%!
Do it!!By: ezz on 28 December 2018I was hesitant and not sure what to expect. I researched this for ages and I’m so glad I got it. It’s WAY better than i ever could have imagined. Just do it! You will get used to it and have no fear of leakage. I am even getting a better nights sleep!!
Easier to use than expectedBy: Alana on 25 December 2018I bought this while I was still pregnant and was extremely nervous to put anything down there after giving birth. I used this for my first cycle post birth and it was surprisingly easy to insert and remove. I’ve had very minimal leakage which I managed by using a reusable liner, I can wear it to bed with no problem and love that I don’t have build up of used pads and tampons in my bin for the week. I haven’t had to remove and wash the cup in a public place yet but I as long as you’re prepared with a bottle of water and maybe some water wipes it shouldn’t be an issue.
Awesome productBy: Barb on 18 October 2018Great product, fast delivery. Couldn’t be happier.
