    ECO. Modern Essentials Citronella Pure Essential Oil is a familiar addition to outdoor gatherings in summer and has long been prized as an effective insect repellent. The fresh, lemon-like scent of citronella has an uplifting quality and can be used to freshen up musty rooms and deodorise kitchen smells.

    Blends well with: lemon, bergamot, cedarwood, clary sage, eucalyptus, geranium, lavender, peppermint, pine, rosemary, sandalwood and tea tree.

    Benefits:

    • Antiseptic and antibacterial properties
    • Great for tired muscles or nerve and arthritic pain
    • Helpful for respiratory infections
    • Well-known insect repellent

    Diffuser: Add 6-8 drops to a diffuser.

    Quick fix: Take a few deep inhalations from the bottle when at work, in the car, or anytime you need a quick break.

    Shower: Add 2-3 drops to the corner of the shower and enjoy the benefits of steam inhalation.

    Hand or foot bath: Add 2 drops to a bowl of water.

    Compress: Add 2 drops of essential oil to a bowl of water. Use cold to room temperature water for inflammation or cooling. Use warm to hot water for aching or tight muscles. Soak a face washer in the water, wring out excess moisture, and apply to the affected area. Repeat two or three times as the compress cools or warms.

    Steam treatment: Add 2 drops of essential oil to a bowl of steaming hot water. Place your face close to the bowl and cover your head and the bowl with a towel to trap the aromatic vapours. Use caution to avoid burns or scalding and keep your eyes covered during treatment.

    Cleaning: Add up to 20 drops to a spray bottle filled with water. Shake well before each use and apply to surfaces.

    Massage: Use a 2.5% dilution; 15 drops per 30ml of carrier oil.

    Is this suitable for use during pregnancy? This blend contains cedarwood and basil, which is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Avoid using essential oils during the first trimester unless you are under the supervision of a qualified practitioner.

    Is this suitable for children? This blend contains cedarwood and basil, which is not recommended for children due to its stimulating nature, making it emotionally inappropriate. Essential oils are considered too strong for use on babies' skin (0-24 months) and can be overwhelming for their developing systems. When using in a diffuser, use fewer drops than you would for an adult (e.g. 2-3 drops).

    Is this suitable to use around pets? Citrus essential oils are not recommended for use around pets. Use this oil with caution, never use it topically and store bottles out of reach. If you have any concerns, contact your vet.

    Can this oil be ingested? Essential oils should not be taken internally unless you have consulted with a health professional or aromatherapist first.
