Product Description

Bokashi EnsoPet Starter Mix to be used with in-ground composting systems. This mix can be used to accelerate breakdown of your pet's waste with a mixture of wheat, sawdust, minerals, and micro-organisms. These beneficial microorganisms - including lactic acid bacteria, yeasts, photosynthetic bacteria, actinomycetes, and fungi accelerate the breakdown of the waste, eliminate smell and help remediate any pathogens in your pet waste, and ultimately contribute to healthier soil.  

Note: always put your EnsoPet away from edible plants and away from a veggie patch.

  • Install your EnsoPet composting unit or other in-fround composting system in a suitable outdoor location (only the lid and opening remain above ground).
  • Deposit pet waste inside the unit.
  • Sprinkle a light layer of EnsoPet Mix over each batch of waste to activate the decomposition process.
  • Aerate the contents regularly (e.g. weekly) by gently stirring or using a compatible aerator tool - oxygen supports microbial activity.
  • Over time, compost achieves gradual transformation; due to the system’s design, it may take months (or may never fully “fill”) depending on waste input.
  • When compost is mature, it becomes a soil amendment for garden areas (avoid direct contact with edible plants during the decomposition process).

  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Shelf life of up to 12 months from purchase.

Bokashi make composting easy at home. Use the Bokashi kit and mix to start composting in the kitchen or the Enso Pet to start disposing of and composting dog poop in the garden. Bokashi is now vegan too - we haven't previously been able to stock Bokashi as the mix wasn't vegan, thankfully it now is. Bokashi is Australian Owned.
