This Galentine's Day (that's valentine's day for the girls), shower your besties with love and honour your friendships! Here's how you can celebrate!
Why Celebrate Galentine's Day?
Officially speaking, Galentine's Day isn't technically a holiday — but it is taking the world by storm. More and more, we're seeing people make their own swing on things, like friendmas, friendsgiving etc, so Valentine's Day is no exception. Traditionally, Valentine's Day has been very much about romantic dates, flowers and chocolates, but in recent years, people have decided to honour love in all it's forms and that includes, friendships.
Galentine's Day is generally celebrated the day before Valentine's, so the 13th of February, however you can really choose to celebrate it whenever all the girls are free and can get together. Interestingly, Galentine's Day came from a TV series, Parks & Recreation, where character Leslie Knope gathers her closest girlfriends for a brunch full of waffles and love. She says, “every February 13, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home and we just come and kick it, breakfast style.” “Ladies celebrating ladies.” We're totally here for it!
So why celebrate Galentine's Day? Asides from it being the perfect excuse to get your friends together for a day packed full of fun, it's the chance to celebrate female bonding and empowerment.

Gift Ideas For Your Friends
Whilst there's no rule that says you have to buy gifts, it's a way to show your appreciation to your friends. Gifting something, no matter how small or big it may be, is defintely a feel-good factor and one we strongly encourage. Here are a few ideas we think your besties will love. Keep in mind, this day is your day too, so if there's something that catches your eye, why not grab it for yourself?
What's Galentine's Day without chocolate? Loco Love Wild Rose Ganache Vegan Chocolate is deliciously rich and is topped with rose petals, making it two of the most recognised Valentine's Day gifts in one. An easy favourite! A pamper package is also a super cute idea, you can put something together yourself or get something pre-made. We love the Physic Garden's Bath & Body Gift Set, Butt Naked's Skin Kit, and the ANSC Soap Gift Pack. Also associated with Valentine's Day are the colours pink and red. Lipstick, Nail Polish and Blush are a few cute ideas to represent this. You could also gift scents of rose like Perfume, Shower Gel, a Candle or Tea.
Cards & Message Ideas
Equally as important as a gift, is a card. Take the time to right a heart-felt message to your loved ones. We don't always let our friends know how much we appreciate them, so it's a great opportunity to let them know. Your message may also like to include a funny joke, meme, poem or an inside joke. These types of messages lighten the mood and make them memorable. They also help to spark conversations, as you reflect back on some shared memories together.
We have a beautiful selection of Cards to choose from:
