In this blog, we'll take you through the types of products and steps every skincare routine should have, to ensure radiant and glowing skin. This of course includes a Facial Toner.

What Is A Facial Toner & Why Do I Need It?

Toners look a little bit different to your cleansers and moisturisers, in the sense that they are filled with clear liquid and are a water-like consistency.

Their job, is to gently refresh your skin without stripping it of its natural moisture. They also work well to hydrate the skin and prepare it for the next skin treatment you apply. Fun fact — toners were originally made to remove soap scum and sticky residue from the face.

Now, toners are reknown for removing traces of dirt, grime and impurities that stay in your pores after you wash your face. Not to mention they restore your skin pH levels and improve overall skin tone. It's no wonder they call it a toner.

Skincare Routine Steps

Applying your Toner is second on the list, right after cleansing. Follow this order for your new and improved skincare routine:

  1. Cleanser - Remove impurities
  2. Toner - Remove impurities the cleanser may have missed.
  3. Serum - Feeds your skin.
  4. Eye Cream - De-puff and brighten the eye area.
  5. Spot Treatment - to help fight the causes of spots and blemishes.
  6. Moisturiser - to hydrate and soften skin.
  7. Face Oil - nourish your skin.

*Note: Exfoliant comes after cleanser but only needs to be used a couple of times each week.
