Why Do We Celebrate National Dog Day?

It's no secret that a dog, is a man's best friend. This day was created, to celebrate all breeds of dogs, mixed and pure — and we're totally here for it! In fact we have Colleen Paige to thank. Colleen is an animal advocate and started the day by adopting her first family dog.

Whilst dogs are very loved and bring value to many people's lives across the globe, this day brings about awareness to the dogs that must be rescued on a yearly basis, from rescuers and public shelters.

So on this day, the 26th of August, we celebrate our furry friends and their heroric actions. They never hesitate to put their lives on the line, with rescues, protecting our safety and detecting drugs, and helping people with disabilities (guide dogs).
