Proper self-care is integral to leading a happy, balanced life. Self-care is the practice of taking an active role in protecting one's own well-being and happiness – especially during periods of stress.

Practicing self-care can be accomplished in many different ways and mean something different to everyone. Essentially, it is prioritising our physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual and social needs above all else.

For some, self-care is a bubble bath, a face mask and a glass of wine. For others, it’s escaping into a fantasy novel and falling asleep earlier than usual. Sometimes, true self-care can’t really be seen – addressing destructive habits, completing a scary task, working towards goals and thinking positive thoughts can be the ultimate forms of self-care.

In our increasingly busy lives, we need to carve out space in the day to relax and unwind.

Evening Routine

After getting home from work, school or uni and having dinner – most of us want to flop on the couch and zone out with some Netflix. For some, that might be the ultimate form of relaxation! But sometimes self-care can take a little bit of effort, especially when you’re tired and stressed out. 

The best thing to do in this situation is to have a long, relaxing bath.
