Sustainable hair accessories from Norfolk Island

Kooshoo is an independent, family-run company based on Norfolk Island, a small Australian territory in the South Pacific. Founded by Rachel Evans (an eighth-generation Islander) and Jesse Schiller, Kooshoo began with the goal of replacing plastic in the accessories industry - starting with the humble hair tie. Today, Kooshoo designs are created on Norfolk Island and ethically manufactured in Japan and in India, where Kooshoo’s biggest production partner is a Fairtrade-certified facility run by Franciscan nuns to uplift those in need.

A brand guided by purpose & values

Kooshoo means "feeling good" in Norf'k, the local language of Norfolk Island. Kooshoo as a word, is a weathervane we use in every decision we make - “does this feel kooshoo?” helps keep us on track as we grow our business.
