Cora Microfibre Ball, in Blue with Yellow and Dark Blue

The Cora Ball is here. This is a great answer to microplastics and microfibres that are in our clothes and end up in our waterways and the food chain. Included: 1 Ball. The ball is made from recycled and recyclable soft and stretchy plastic. It is 100% recyclable.

Within the food chain, these particles have been found to cause physical and chemical impacts, resulting in starvation and reproductive consequences in species. Microplastics and microfibers have also been found in marine species directly consumed by humans, the effects of which are as yet unknown.

The Cora Ball goes in your washing machine and catches microfibres in the washing so you can keep them out of our waterways. It will last years and also helps with pet hair too! We have cats in our household and this has been very handy! Note it won't just catch pet hair on its own, it needs other microfibres for the optimum result and isn't a magic bullet for pet hair but certainly helps.

For most homes, one Cora Ball will do the job. For large families, especially with a large washing machine, we recommend up to 3. The Cora Ball catches up to a third of the microfibers per load, per Cora Ball based on Cora Ball's testing. Cora Ball are working with a third party currently who are also testing the product and they will release their studies and research as soon as they are available. The effectiveness depends on several factors including what items are in the load, wash settings, wash frequency and the presence of pet hair (which helps catch fibers)!

Clothing like fleece tends to produce more microfibres so after washing these garments you are likely to see more lint. You do not need to clean after every wash, just when there is a build up of lint. This can take quite a few washes especially if your clothes have already been washed multiple times.

Made in Vermont. Comes with no packaging other than a swing tag.

How To Use It

  1. Put it in your washing machine with your clothes. It works in a front loader, top loader (with or without a center spindle), a hybrid, or whatever you have that washes your clothes.
  2. Do not use with delicates. The Cora Ball works best with your everyday clothes. Please separate your delicates, knits, fine fabrics, anything with tassels, fraying threads or spaghetti straps. There is a chance that these clothes, fabrics, threads or straps work their way into the stalks and wrap, pull or worse. Just keep your Cora Ball on the shelf when you wash these fabrics and delicate garments.
  3. Clean Your Cora Ball. Cleaning is easy and similar to cleaning a hairbrush. When you see fuzz/lint balls that are big enough to grab, simply pull them out and dispose of responsibly. We don't know of a way to recycle the lint fibres (similar to lint from your dryer) but this keeps them out of waterways.
  4. Frequency: it will take some time, weeks even, for you to see the fuzz/lint (see below for what to expect). We recommend having a look every bunch of washes and when you see a big fuzz/lint ball, take it out. Don't worry about cleaning the whole Cora Ball. Those little tangles of hair and fiber will attract more hair and fiber and grow big enough for you to grab easily.

    Saves our oceans

Since purchasing my Cora Ball 3 years ago I have grown to really appreciate this product! At first you think it's not doing its job but after multiple washes with it you will start to see it catching all those nasty synthetic fibres and micro plastics that you don't want to go into our waterways. The coral ball has also been so good at getting alot of hair out of my laundry. I love how it's basically a filter for my laundry. It does what it's designed to do 100%

Cleans the water, doesn't necessarily clean fibers and hairs off the clothes.

At first, I wasn't overjoyed with the results of this product. I have however come around to like it. It doesn't necessarily pull unwanted stuff off my clothes, instead, it does a better job of removing any of the contents from the water. I've collected so much in my Cora ball since I bought it, and although it doesn't de-fluff or pull off every bit that sticks to my washing it's doing a good job of collecting things from the water so they don't go down the drain or get stuck in the machine which is what its meant to do.

I think more people should pay attention to the purpose of this product, "The Cora Ball goes in your washing machine and catches microfibres in the washing so you can keep them out of our waterways." not to make their washing lint & hair-free.

Just have to be careful of fragile clothing, holed clothing (ripped jeans etc), strings, cords etc - they can somethings get caught. Try putting them in a clothing bag.

    Overal very happy.

    Great at removing pet hair

I have two long hair cats and a long hair dog, so my washing always comes out covered in fur. I’ve tried so many products to try reduce this, and this is the first one which has done a great job of it! Highly recommend

    Amazing product

I adore my Cora ball. It picks up hair and thread from my clothes so well. Have used for a year and love it. Definitely recommended if you want to cut down on microplastic pollution.

    12+ washes; no fibres caught

I've used it in over 12 washes. The Cora has caught no fibres. Expensive waste of money.

    Works really well

I was pretty sceptical after reading the reviews, but I bought the Cora ball when it was on sale and I'm glad I did. After just a few washes it's already full of fluff and fibres - it's crazy that these would've otherwise gone down the drain!

Love it but takes up a lot of space

I really like this! It's hard to tell if its been catching micro plastics it's definitely helping with the pet hair though. Have been using for around a year now and haven't emptied it yet.

It is quite large and takes up a bit of space in the washer, if you had a small size washing machine it could be a problem!

    So innovative

I love using the Cora ball! It takes a while for it to get full. I've had it for about 3 weeks and it's not even close to needing to be emptied. Bonus if you have pet hair on clothes, it catches pretty much all of it.

    Excellent Device

I've been using my Cora Ball for many months now and I absolutely love it. I use it in every load of washing and have found that it picks up all that I want it to - the hairs, the rabbit fur from my pet rabbits, the microfibers as well as other fibres, and even hay from my pet rabbits! I think it's worthwhile spending your money on - you're helping the environment and yourself!
