Sustainable hair accessories from Norfolk Island

Kooshoo is an independent, family-run company based on Norfolk Island, a small Australian territory in the South Pacific. Founded by Rachel Evans (an eighth-generation Islander) and Jesse Schiller, Kooshoo began with the goal of replacing plastic in the accessories industry—starting with the humble hair tie. Today, Kooshoo designs are created on Norfolk Island and ethically manufactured in Japan and in India, where Kooshoo’s biggest production partner is a Fairtrade-certified facility run by Franciscan nuns to uplift those in need.

A brand guided by purpose & values

Kooshoo means "feeling good" in Norf'k, the local language of Norfolk Island. Kooshoo as a word, is a weathervane we use in every decision we make - “does this feel kooshoo?” helps keep us on track as we grow our business.
