We’ve all heard of flat-pack furniture, but what if we could replicate the same idea with plant pots? Australian eco-friendly giftware company, Sow 'n Sow, has created a range of pop up plant pots that are foldable, waterproof, and made from 100% recycled materials.
Plus, Sow 'n Sow has just released a stunning new pop up pot collection with Newcastle-based artist, Jackie Anderson! You can shop all Sow ‘n Sow products right here at Flora & Fauna.
Sow 'n Sow’s Origami-Style Pop Up Pots
Gone are the days of moving around heavy and fragile plant pots! Sow ‘n Sow’s Pop Up Pots assemble instantly — with a quick pop and a push, you’ve got yourself a lightweight, durable plant pot. It’s that easy!
They’re also designed and made in Australia from 100% recycled polypropylene, which means that they’re not going to collapse, disintegrate or go mouldy over time. In fact, when you’re finished with the pot, you can recycle it in your bin!
“I love my indoor plants but I was finding it hard to find stylish and affordable pots to house them in. When I discovered the recycled polypropylene sheet I spent many hours playing with origami to create a pot that folds flat as well as being a design element in my home,” said Sow ‘n Sow’s founder, Michelle.
They’re Made From 100% Recyclable Materials
The most amazing part about Sow ‘n Sow’s Pop Up Pots is that they’re made from 100% recycled plastic waste. The non-toxic polypropylene is produced via a closed-loop system that recycles post‑industrial waste like manufacturing offcuts and consumer products that would otherwise go straight to landfill. All in all, the Australian-made plastic sheets are 100% recycled, 100% recyclable, and 100% carbon-neutral!
Michelle Brady says Sow ‘n Sow’s Pop Up Pots can last a lifetime before being recycled. “By manufacturing our Pop Up Pots from 100 per cent recycled materials, we’re actively diverting waste from landfill and using it to create new durable and usable consumer products. This keeps the materials circulating in the loop for longer to maximise and extract as much value from it and minimise its environmental impact.”
22,500 Plastic Bottles Will Be Diverted From Landfill!
Did you know that purchasing a Sow ‘n Sow Pop Up Pot will save plastic waste from entering landfill? To illustrate the positive impact, Sow ‘n Sow have calculated the equivalent plastic waste each pot saves from landfill.
Overall, Sow ‘n Sow will divert the equivalent waste of 22,500 plastic 600ml bottles from landfill! You can actually choose how much plastic you want to divert from landfill: the Small Pop Up Pot diverts 1 x 600ml plastic bottle, the Medium Pop Up Pot diverts 1 ½ x 600ml plastic bottles, and the Large Pop Up Pot diverts 2 x 600ml plastic bottles.
“We are committed to eliminating future waste by building a circular economy that turns waste back into products."
