What Is Universal Children's Day?
Whilst a day dedicated to children sounds like a lot of fun, there's more meaning to the day than what meets the eye. Universal Children's Day, was established in 1954 and is held annually on November 20th. The aim? To promote internal togetherness, raise awareness among children worldwide, and improve children’s welfare.
Did you know that there are 264 million children around the world who do not go to school and 153 million who are forced into child labour. These numbers are huge and things need to change! Change starts with education, so celebrate your children, this Children's Day — just make sure to educate them along the way.

Activities To Do With Your Kids This Children's Day
There are many ways to provide a learning experience for your children, whilst still maintaining fun.
Provide an outdoor learning experience, through gardening. Gardening teaches a wide range of skills. From how to plant seeds, to looking after them and encouraging growth. We have so many fruit & veggie seeds to choose from.
Read an Educational Book to your child. We think The Importance of Water is a great one. Afterwards, why not pop on an educational movie too?
Another fun indoor activity is painting and drawing. Eco Crayons has a great stationary selection to choose from. Challenge your kids to draw what they've learned.

Children's Gift Ideas
Seeds, educational books and arts and crafts are great activities for children and make perfect gifts too. But there's plenty more ways to continue educating your children, with the gifts you get them.
Take our Pebble Toys for example. They are super cute, but also have a very ethical story attatched. When you gift your child a toy, share this story with them. Read more here.
How about a new Lunchbox for school? Teach your child the importance of reusables and how they're helping the planet. Why not pop some sweet treats inside for an added surprise.
Lastly, spoil your little one with an all natural and safe makeup set. No Nasties, is focused on building a cruelty-free brand of gorgeous face paints. Educate them on this.
Children are our future. That's why, Universal Children's Day exists. We need to raise awareness to the issues children face today, such as a lack of education, healthcare, or opportunities. This day also recognises the rights children have. They have the right to life, health, education, play, family, protection from violence, discrimination, and suppression. How will you get involved in spreading awareness?
We hope you enjoy celebrating with your children today and take the time explaining what the day is all about.
