The mild surfactants in Weleda hair care products ensure excellent cleansing despite producing little foam and are tailored to the individual needs of the scalp and hair.’

Special features of ‘natural’ hair care compared with ‘conventional’ hair care
» Gentle foam action due to the use of natural plant-based surfactants. Less foam does not mean inferior washing properties
» Damaging effects on hair cuticle are reduced (mild tensides)
» Hydrolipid-balance is less disturbed as mild tensides don’t degrease hair totally
» Conditioning effects are reduced and often low at the beginning (first wash), but increase after several washes
» Natural conditioners have a slight positive charge-adhesion to hair is lower, can be washed out more easily
For those converting to natural hair care, the Oat Replenishing Shampoo in combination with the Oat Replenishing Conditioner and/or Treatment is ideal even if they have normal hair. Some people coming from conventional hair care might have damaged hair due to mechanical (hair dryers, plastic combs and brushes) and chemical stresses (use of chemically derived products, bleaching, colouring, and permanent waves).
Weleda is at the forefront of focusing on natural products made with integrity. All are certified by NATRUE. One thing that goes into every product Weleda makes is integrity. When Weleda says “all natural,” it means “all natural.”
Weleda has very clear standards for their products:
- No synthetic preservatives
- No synthetic fragrances
- No synthetic chemicals
- No synthetic anything
And because Weleda believes unwaveringly in cultivating beauty for all creatures, they don’t test our skin care products or their ingredients on animals and neither do their suppliers. Weleda are fundamentally against animal testing.

Weleda oat shampooBy: Diana knight on 7 April 2018It's runnier than most shampoos and smells like almond. Lathers well so you only need a small amount.
Soothing shampooBy: Tash on 10 February 2016I've really been enjoying this shampoo. It's my first shampoo transitioning to all organic and vegan products and initially I was worried because I suffer from really oily skin and hair. But my scalp feels so clean and fresh afterwards without feeling stripped. In a way it seems that my hair isn't getting oily as quickly and has more volume to it. The only downfall is that it doesn't lather as much as shop products, so I definitely have to use lots all over my scalp otherwise parts of my hair stay greasy. It's still amazing and I'm not looking back!
