Pela Compostable Phone Case for the iPhone 11
This beautiful case is soft and smooth to the touch and elegantly designed. The case is 100% compostable and can be composted at home, in industrial composters or sent back to us and we'll get back to Pela to make more Pela cases. Each case is made from flax shive and a plant-based biopolymer. They are certified compostable to US and EU standards. In home compost Pela will fully compost in 6 months to 3 years, depending on the conditions. Pela is also a member of 1% for The Planet donating money to worthwhile environmental causes.

Why have Pela developed these cases?
Pela want to create a waste-free future. Generally speaking, a phone case is replaced every 18-24 months, and there are currently over 4 billion mobile phones in existence. Each case on these 4 billion phones will be relatively obsolete within the next 24 months, but the case itself (made from conventional plastics) will last for over 1000 years. The fate of these cases is to photodegrade in the wastestream, eventually becoming Micro-Plastics. Micro-Plastics end up in the oceans, lakes and rivers, and are eaten by fish, marine mammals and other organisms, and in most cases, harm is done to the sea-life ingesting these plastics. Pela is looking at other products as part of its journey to a waste free world.
