Pela Compostable Phone Case Card Holder

This beautiful card holder is the solution to bulky wallets. This card holder securely sticks to the back of your iPhone, Samsung or Google Pela phone case and holds up to 2 cards. It is 100% compostable and can be composted at home, in industrial composters or sent back to us and we'll get back to Pela to make more Pela products. Each card holder is made from flax shive and a plant-based biopolymer. They are certified compostable to US and EU standards. In a home compost Pela will fully compost in 6 months to 3 years, depending on the conditions. Pela is also a member of 1% for The Planet donating money to worthwhile environmental causes.

Card holder packed plastic-free with minimal packaging. Note: phone or phone cover not included.

Not compatible with iPhone 5/5s cases, Slim Cases for iPhone 6/6s/7/8/SE, or Clear Cases for iPhone 6/6s/7/8/SE

Why have Pela developed these cases?

Pela want to create a waste-free future. Generally speaking, a phone case is replaced every 18-24 months, and there are currently over 4 billion mobile phones in existence. Each case on these 4 billion phones will be relatively obsolete within the next 24 months, but the case itself (made from conventional plastics) will last for over 1000 years. The fate of these cases is to photodegrade in the wastestream, eventually becoming Micro-Plastics. Micro-Plastics end up in the oceans, lakes and rivers, and are eaten by fish, marine mammals and other organisms, and in most cases, harm is done to the sea-life ingesting these plastics. Pela is looking at other products as part of its journey to a waste free world.

The cardboard can be recycled locally. Check with your local council if they will take it and what criteria they have for recycling it. The wallet can be composted at home or industrially at the end of its use.

Thanks for disposing responsibly.

Each case is made from Flax shive and a plant-based biopolymer.
