Note from Flora & Fauna: You may think these products are fussy and you need time. Let me assure you that this isn't the case. I am someone with no time and I enjoyed this; it's easy, quite fuss free and your hair feels, and smells, amazing. There is a bit of preparation but it's the same as stirring a bowl of pasta - no effort and that comes from someone who doesn't cook a lot.
Desert Shadow Hair Colour Products also act as a hair treatment, helping to repair dry and damaged ends, leaving your hair silky soft and shiny
This Non-irritating 100% Certified Organic formula is ideal for those who have scalp issues, sensitive skin and allergies to commercial hair dyes. It is also a wonderful and safe alternative for Pregnant Mums who would like to continue colouring during pregnancy* as they contain nothing but Certified Organic Goodness.
Allow yourself plenty of time for this treatment but enjoy it as it is a relaxing treatment.
Follow the detailed instructions in the pack.
Note if the recipe indicates do add honey you do not need to do this to keep it vegan.
At Desert Shadow, they only work with botanical ingredients so they use a variety of plants to create the different shades, although, every colour has a different formulation.

LOVE!By: Vendella Gauld on 10 January 2018Was very worried about dying my hair with henna for the first time. I am so careful about chemicals in everything I use and then would still go to the hairdressers and let chemicals just sit on hair for hours. I have natural mousy brown hair/ dark ash blonde and had blonde sunglitz all over it, which I wanted to fade down and be as close to my nature colour as possible but with a bit more shine and gloss. I loved the whole process of this henna hair dye, and I did alot of research on good companies before hand. Desert Shadow is amazing and this colour is stunning. The colour matches my natural colour very well and faded my blonde and left my hair feeling incredibly healthy! It has faded and the blonde has turned a bit of dark strawberry blonde which I like. It has been about 3 weeks since I did the colour and my hair has grown so much and is so healthy and thick! Love this product. Also any questions you have about what colour is best, the wonderful people at flora and fauna are so helpful!
Perfect!By: Julie on 10 January 2018I have been using Desert Shadow colours for years however as my roots are getting more and more 'sparkly' I either wanted to just step into my natural state and stop using colour or to find a way to tone the grey so that the regrowth wasn't as obvious. (I was using chocolate shadow at the time). The Honey colour gives me just the look I was after - it doesn't completely colour my greys however I don't want to hide them completely instead it provides warmth to them - not red more a light golden/brown and I love the overall effect. I am 45 and I now feel that I can transition gracefully into my more mature years still feeling beautiful :) Please don't ever stop making this colour xxx
Great changeBy: Joanne on 20 October 2017I tried this as a change from the usual colour I use and really like it. Different and a really nice change from the usual brown. It added Caramel colour to my hair so I'll definitely use it again.
Not great grey coverageBy: Jessica Holmes on 2 October 2017While i liked the colour of this and usually love desert shadow hair dyes which I have used several times before, I found the ability of this honey colour to cover greys quite poor. I followed instructions and left it on for the maximum amount of time but was quite disappointed with the outcome unfortunately.
Orange tingeBy: holly pelengaris on 12 April 2017I recently purchased this product and was super excited to try it. I have used henna in my hair before but a long time ago. I have naturally light brown / dark blonde hair that has been lightened with foils etc. I bought this product to match my natural color moreso to stop my ugly regrowth coming through. This product was hard to put on and quite thick (even added extra water), but the color turned out great at first. A week on and it's now looking like it has a ginger tinge which is awful and not what the product suggests will happen. For that reason I will be giving this product 1 star :(
