More Reasons to Smile with ecostore

The demand for natural and organic products has risen significantly in the self-care and beauty markets, with oral care being no exception. Buyers are becoming more aware of the ingredients and chemicals in products and the potential effect they may have.

As a result, many are now making the switch to products that use all, or mostly natural ingredients for their incredible benefits not only to our health but also to that of our environment.

ecostore, a global brand that many of you are very familiar with (and may have already overhauled your skincare and cleaning supplies with) has now launched their own range of oral care products to give their customers peace of mind that the health of their smile is being looked after while simultaneously caring for the environment. A customer expectation, which excitingly, is becoming more the norm.

This week we welcome toothpastes, mouthwash and toothbrushes made from plants from ecostore. They have been independently tested and shown to help reduce plaque, prevent tartar build-up, and protect against germs that cause bad breath. By harnessing the power of nature, the range is proudly free from SLS, triclosan and parabens, ensuring it is safer for you and your family. The range includes natural essential oils, including peppermint, spearmint, menthol and clove-leaf which are used as an alternative to synthetic flavours to provide a long-lasting freshness - By swapping out the synthetic ingredients for kinder organic oils, enables the brand to still retain that minty fresh taste that most of us love and expect from our oral care products. The natural oils are also not only better for you but for our beautiful environment too as ecostore, true to their ethos, ensures the safety of from beginning to end. This goes right down to the toothpaste tube itself as they are 100% recyclable through the company’s recycling programme (if you’re in New Zealand) or through us with our Recycling Programme. To find out more about ecostore’s plant packaging, be sure to check out our post detailing their inspiring commitment to sustainable packaging.

We decided to go in to a little more detail as to which ingredients have made the cut and passed the rigorous testing ecostore is renowned for. You can rest assured that if they’ve been included in the formulas, then they are essentially the (vegan) cream of the crop.

Magnolia Bark Extract

Magnolia Bark Extract is a natural extract shown to support oral health and is recommended for use in oral care products for its breath-freshening benefits.

Kanuka Oil

Harvested from the NZ native plant, Kanuka, Kanuka Oil is shown to have antibacterial properties. For centuries, the native Maori people of New Zealand have used Manuka and Kanuka as a healing agent in teas, poultices, infusions and inhalations to relieve pain and inflammation, heal wounds and treat everything from fevers and fractures to tummy troubles and skin irritations.

Baking Soda

Baking soda is an alkaline substance capable of neutralising acids. As such, it prevents tooth decay by neutralising the acids produced by bacteria in the mouth. It also neutralises acidic components of common teeth staining chemicals - such as the colour in tea and red wine, and lessens their staining effect. Baking soda is one of the least abrasive forms of teeth cleaning, and does not harm enamel as much as abrasive substances in some toothpastes such as silica.

Xylitol

Xylitol is a natural sweetener derived from the fibrous parts of plants and used in ecostore’s toothpastes primarily as a flavour. It also inhibits the growth of the bacteria that cause cavities and has the benefit of preserving the product.

The new oral care range from ecostore is available online now. The toothpaste comes in two 100g variants: Complete Care and Whitening. The Complete Care Mouthwash is available in 450ml.
